Connecting pet owners with trusted local businesses

About the client

SortedPets is one of my own projects, a pet project as it were, built to make it easier for pet owners to find reliable, friendly services in their area. Whether it’s a dog walker, vet, groomer or pet sitter, the aim is to create a directory that feels simple, trustworthy and easy to browse.

The Challenge

There are plenty of big-name apps and platforms for pet services, but many are commission-based and impersonal. I wanted to create something different — a directory that supports independent businesses and helps them get found by local customers without high fees or complicated systems.

The Solution

The website was designed and built using a clean, approachable (yet fun) layout with warm, friendly colours that suit the pet theme. Each business has its own dedicated listing with space for photos, descriptions and links. Categories make it easy to filter by service — from training and grooming to boarding and veterinary care.
The site is fully mobile-friendly and hosted on our UK-based green servers, with daily backups and regular updates to keep everything running smoothly.

The Result

The site launched with an initial set of listings and is steadily growing as more businesses join. It’s already helping pet service providers reach new audiences and giving owners a reliable place to find trusted, nearby experts.

This project also acts as a live test bed for directory features that could benefit other community-based websites in future. If you have an idea for a community directory website do get in touch.
