About the project
SortedHome is one of my own projects, created to make it easier for people to find reliable, friendly and trustworthy home and lifestyle experts. Whether someone needs a gardener, a decorator, a home organiser, a cleaner, a locksmith or support with moving home, the aim is to bring everything together in one simple, easy-to-browse directory.
The challenge
There are plenty of large platforms for trades and home services, but many feel crowded, commission-based or impersonal. I wanted to create something different — a calm, trustworthy directory that supports independent businesses, helps them get found by local customers and keeps costs fair and transparent. No bidding for leads, no inflated prices, no complicated onboarding.
The solution
The website was carefully designed to feel friendly and stress-free, with clear categories that reflect everyday home and lifestyle needs. Each business has its own professionally presented listing with space for photos, descriptions, links, reviews and more. Visitors can browse by category or location, or explore helpful articles in the Ask an Expert and Business Tips sections.
SortedHome is fully responsive, quick to use on any device and hosted on our UK-based green servers with daily backups and ongoing updates. Every listing is created and checked manually to ensure quality and consistency.
The result
SortedHome launched with an initial set of trusted experts and has been steadily growing as more businesses join. It’s already helping local home and lifestyle professionals raise their visibility, and giving the public a reliable place to find people they can genuinely trust.
